Women in Tech Scholarship
The Wireshark Foundation is committed to encouraging diversity in the Wireshark community — one that fosters inclusion and embraces diverse backgrounds, experiences, and ideas. To support that goal, we are offering two scholarships for SharkFest'26 EUROPE.
Each scholarship is valued at €3,335
Each scholarship covers
Full SharkFest'26 EUROPE attendance plus a pre-conference training track of your choice. Travel and lodging are not covered.
SharkFest'26 EUROPE conference
Full three-day conference attendance, including the welcome reception, catering (with dinners served Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday evenings), and the Fun & Games programme.
Pre-Conference training — your choice
Either the two-day Essential Wireshark Skills course (Class I) by Ross Bagurdes, or both single-day specialist classes — Class II (WebRTC Masterclass with Robert Hess) and Class III (Network Threat Detection with Marcelle Lee).
Criteria for selection
These scholarships exist to give motivated women a leg up into network and packet analysis. We're looking for candidates who genuinely want to learn — financial need is a factor we weigh, but it is not the primary one.
- A genuine interest in networking and packet analysis, and a curiosity about Wireshark in particular.
- Motivation to learn and grow into the field — we look for candidates who will make the most of the training and the community around it.
- Some basic familiarity with networking concepts helps, but you do not need to be an expert. The pre-conference classes are there to build that foundation.
- Financial need is considered as part of the application, but it is one factor among several — not the deciding one.
