Selection

Criteria for selection

These scholarships exist to give motivated women a leg up into network and packet analysis. We're looking for candidates who genuinely want to learn — financial need is a factor we weigh, but it is not the primary one.

  • A genuine interest in networking and packet analysis, and a curiosity about Wireshark in particular.
  • Motivation to learn and grow into the field — we look for candidates who will make the most of the training and the community around it.
  • Some basic familiarity with networking concepts helps, but you do not need to be an expert. The pre-conference classes are there to build that foundation.
  • Financial need is considered as part of the application, but it is one factor among several — not the deciding one.
